Rubino's To Host Winemaker Benefit For Huntington's Disease
Rocklin, Calif. - Tuesday, Mar. 1, owners Christopher Rubino and Henry Carrillo Jr. of Rubino's Ristorante have partnered with Huntington's Disease Society of America - HDSA to raise money and help find a cure for this dreadful disease. Rubino's Ristorante is doing its part by selling Hearts for Huntington's and has set a goal of raising a total $5000 in donations. All proceeds benefit HDSA research. Huntington's Disease - HD is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder that results in a loss of cognitive, behavioral and physical control, and for which, presently, there is no treatment or cure. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, think, talk and reason. Symptoms usually appear in an individual between 30 and 50 years of age and progress over a 10 to 25 year period. Eventually, a person with HD becomes totally dependent upon others for his or her care. More than 30,000 people in the United States are currently diagnosed with HD and 200,000 are at risk. Each of their siblings and children has a 50 percent risk of developing the disease. Although medications can relieve some symptoms in certain individuals, research has yet to find a means of conquering or even slowing the deadly progression of HD. Rubino's Ristorante will be hosting a Winemaker's Dinner Event to benefit Huntington's Disease Society of America in the late summer. Rubino's Fights Huntington's Disease at Local Crab Feed
Loomis, Calif.- Saurday, Jan. 29, owners Christopher Rubino and Henry Carrillo Jr. of Rubino's Ristorante made a major contribution to Huntington's Disease research by donating $1,000.00 at the Huntington's Disease Society of America Crab Feed.Huntington's Disease (HD is a terrible genetically inherited disease that still has no cure. Currently, an estimated 200,000 Americans are at risk of inheriting the disease - www.caregiver.org . In addition, HDSA has special meaning to those at Rubino's Ristorante due to personal experiences with the disease. Owner Christopher Rubino explains, "Members of my family have Huntington's Disease, and there is no cure. Giving to this cause is something that I must do."
Rubino's intends on making sure that this is not their one-andConly contribution to HD research but plans to become more involved in the cause in the near future.

Rocklin Resturant Embraces The Academic Community
Rubino's Ristorante Hosts Free Luncheon for Students and Faculty of Sierra College
ROCKLIN, Calif.- Monday, Jan. 31, owners Christopher Rubino and Henry Carrillo Jr. of Rubino's Ristorante will be passing out free samples of their signature appetizers at the cafeteria of Sierra College's Rocklin campus on the eve of Rubino's first Free Lunch Tuesday event.
Once again, Rubino's has shown their commitment to the Sierra College community by providing a free lunch buffet to Sierra College's faculty and students on Feb. 1st.
Owner Christopher Rubino explains, " I believe that it is important for us to show the students of our community that we support them, and we are here for them." This isn't the first time that Rubino's has embraced the Sierra College community. Rubino's Ristorante is an active participant of Sierra College's Culture Day, and for the last 2 years Rubino's has been a part of Sierra College's Advantage Cash Program.
